God's daily teachings

“My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.”

Lord teach me daily to strive for your very best! Help me see the wisdom that can only come from you for instructions to live my my life as a holy example of your graceful name. Thank you for picking me up each time that I fall in the trap of my selfish desires 

Being Spirit controlled

“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.”

Romans 8:6-8 NLT

Lord I want to be Spirit controlled. I want my daily life to be pleasing to you and I want to worship in all areas of my life. Lead my Spirit with your greatness to do great and better things for your name sake

Expose me Lord

“All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. ””

John 3:20-21 NLT

Lord sometimes I need you to expose me and show me my faults. Help me find the things that hinder my growth in my relationship with you. Find in me ways to seek you first and expose the areas of my life that are unhealthy 

Asking wisdom from God

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”

James 1:5-6 NLT

Lord help me in my times of confusion. Help me see past my selfish desires and find the path that is right and just. 

Find and trust God in every moment

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you.”

Psalms 9:10 NLT

Lord I want to trust you each day, not only with the big things but the everyday things as well. Help me find you in every moment in my life 

Trials through life

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

God, there are days it's a struggle to breathe, to wake up rejoiceful. Remind me there is a reason to live and push through each trial. I know the reward is greater than any pain felt 

Change my ways Lord

“Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.”

Isaiah 55:7 NLT

Lord help me with my daily thoughts!!! Help me change my ways and give me a heart of forgiveness since the grace of forgiveness has been given to me without any reservations 

Wholeheartedly searching for God

“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

Jeremiah 29:13 NLT

God promises to always be near, we just need to open our eyes with our hearts to find him. Lord I pray for opening my eyes so you can reveal he deepest parts of my heart 

Love with abandon

“Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.”

Romans 13:10 NLT

Lord teach me to love with abandon, never holding back. I want to demonstrate this level of love each day in my words and in my actions! Help me when I fall short of this goal 

Mistakes and lack of control

“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.”

James 3:2 NLT

Lord remind me that my imperfectness comes from lacking control. Help me lean on you to help control my thoughts and actions so they are filled with your presence. I want you to control the path of my life and I need to step aside to allow you to be there

Blessings from above

“May the God of your father help you; may the Almighty bless you with the blessings of the heavens above, and blessings of the watery depths below, and blessings of the breasts and womb.”

Genesis 49:25 NLT

Lord remind me that the material blessings of this world do not even compare to the riches and rewards of your kingdom. We often find ourselves looking for false satisfaction when in reality the blessings you have given, live within in us and through us. Help me see beyond the temporary

Still belonging to God

“Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.”

Psalms 73:23 NLT

Lord through all my transgressions and my human faults, I am yours...your promise to hold me through it all and guide my steps is a promise you never falter from, thank you Lord for loving me even when I least deserve it 

God holds all the wisdom and the power

“I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.”

1 Corinthians 2:5 NLT

Lord remind us that our small minds are nothing compared to your power and wisdom and the moments we think we know the answers put us in our place to trust in you first 

New Year, renewed life with God

“Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”

Ephesians 4:24 NLT

Lord with the beginning of a new year is a beginning with fresh starts and requests for a renewed Spirit, help us throughout the upcoming year as we navigate through our personal struggles and life's circumstances. Help us see past ourselves so we can be helpful with others in their journeys 

Lean on God's strength

“God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect.”

2 Samuel 22:33 NLT

Lord we know that we are fall from perfect, yet you lend us your strength when we are broken and confused! Remind me that each step taken is with you by my side
