Do you actually believe what you hear about God's shelter?

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. (Psalms 91:1, 10, 11 NLT)

There is a sense of comfort knowing that God's shelter never fails. Encouraging words spoken by God heed great instruction; but we have to be willing to actually follow the words; and not just hear them. It's often times as believers, we hear God but don't allow the words to speak life into our hearts

Protection behind God

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord ’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. (Psalms 18:30 NLT)

Through our daily struggles and wanting answers to all the WHY questions....God still remains perfect and true to his promises...to never separate from us; to comfort and to heal us when we cannot understand the question to the reasons of WHY ME? Find protection in God

Faithful Heart

For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:10 NLT)

Having a faithful heart, how do we do this? Simple: utter the words above from Scripture and you are saved! We tend to forget that just simple faith will set us free

Don't be Anxious

Find rest, O my soul, In God alone, my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
Psalm 62:5-8

When your day starts off not the way your expected or if you left something back at home that you should have with you, don't become overwhelmed with anxious thoughts or feelings that the rest of your day will turn out badly; but have faith that God is in control. The things that we think we cannot live without, actually turn out to be things we don't have control of in the first place. ie. plans for your day, time, peace, and so many others. We may impact each of these things in some small way, but truly God is in control of all these things and our good intention plans never turn out exactly how we hoped anyways

God's spirit

And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. (Romans 8:27 NLT)

Stay connected to God's spirit. Don't be let astray by things in life that try to consume your time and thoughts

Life is not perfect....God is perfect

He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! (Deuteronomy 32:4 NLT)

Many times we see life as unfair and not perfect but GOD only promised that he is fair and he is perfect. We sometimes put our faith in things and beliefs that don't last on earth; when we should strive for much bigger and greater things

Admitting when you are wrong

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NLT)

Lord when I fall short of demonstrating a peaceful heart; your promise stands strong that you are with us wherever we go. Hard lessons learned when our parental roles don't demonstrate to our children godly behavior, but rather an unglued moment. The difficult part is forgiving ourselves for making mistakes and the willingness to show our children the ability to confess and repent our sins, A close friend reminds me that we are still "human" and therefore being "human" requires confession and repentance, since there is no other way to show there is a power in God beyond ourselves.

Choosing our words with God in mind

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. (Ephesians 4:29 NLT)

Choosing words that we say that bring life into others. So many times we forget about those words we say to others under our breath or in our minds. Remind me God...... to teach my Twinkies about the difference between life words and death words

God is Good All the Time

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. (Romans 2:4, 7 NLT)

God is Good all the time!!! Stay faithful in his ways and see rewards

Being taught by your kids

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. (Romans 1:11, 12 NLT)

There is so much I can learn from my Twinkies. Their strength and their courage brings me to a humble place. God thank you for using my children as a beacon for hope

Light living=truth living

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John 8:12 NLT)

Light exposes things in our lives that we try to hide; although painful to experience, it's exactly what we need to live in truth

God is restoration

They will sing, ‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord . (Jeremiah 33:11 NLT)

God is restoration; He is a healer and comforter...have faith that he will remind you of good times

The Lord knows your future

“This is what the Lord says—the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord : Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. (Jeremiah 33:2, 3 NLT)

We don't know what the future holds, only God knows our paths, yet his free gift for free will allows us to choose paths that will bring light or darkness into our lives. Lets be faithful in our choices that honor God!!

Consistency not only by words but also actions

So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:26, 27 NLT)

Don't just Demonstrate God's grace by words but also by actions! Be consistent in your message and people can truly see your heart has good intentions

Happy Valentine's Day

for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. (Psalms 86:13 NLT)

God's love covers all. So no matter what your circumstance let God's love fill your heart, so that same love can be given to others

Unfailing love

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. (Micah 7:18 NLT)

Love beyond measure; with an unimaginable sacrifice of your son's life....to show your ultimate love for our lives. Thank you Lord that your love is greater than anything we have ever experienced

No regrets when God is at the center

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” (James 4:14, 15 NLT)

Don't waste time trying to do your will without making sure God is at the center of all things you do! Life is shorter than we realize and we can never go back in time to change things we should have done. Don't let opportunities pass you by

Planning to succeed

Commit your actions to The Lord, and your plans will succeed. (Proverbs 16:3 NLT)

Focus on God first and his miracles succeed... We often think our ways are better, but how can we argue with a magnificent God who should guide your steps

Goods things come from the heart when you put good things in

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. (Matthew 12:35, 36 NLT)

God please help me only have room for good things in my heart...take away all that would bring destruction to others

Your strength can't even compare to God's

This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

Human strength is nothing compare to God's strength ...wisdom doesn't come from our small ideals but rather from surrendering to God's power

Be a good friend

Resolution of Women

This is How I want my Twinkies to live as Women of God!!! This resolution is posted in our house and signed/witnessed by my daughters to hold me accountable!!'

THE RESOLUTION OF WOMEN

1. I DO SOLEMNLY RESOLVE to embrace my current season of life and will maximize my time in it. I will resist the urge to hurry through or circumvent any portion of my journey but will live with a spirit of contentment.

2. I WILL CHAMPION God's model for womanhood in the face of a postfeminist culture. I will teach it to my daughters and encourage its support by my sons.

3. I WILL ACCEPT and celebrate my uniqueness and will esteem and encourage the distinctions I admire in others.

4. I WILL LIVE as a woman answerable to God and faithfully committed to HIS WORD.

5. I WILL SEEK to devote the best of myself, my time, and my talents to the primary roles the LORD has entrusted to me in this phase of my life.

6. I WILL BE a woman who is quick to listen and slow to speak. I will care about the concerns of others and esteem them more highly than myself.

7. I WILL FORGIVE those who have wronged me and reconcile with those I have wronged.

8. I WILL NOT TOLERATE evil influences even in the most justifiable form, in myself or my home, but will embrace and encourage a life of purity.

9. I WILL PURSUE justice, love mercy, and extend compassion toward others.

10. I WILL BE FAITHFUL to my husband and honor him in my conduct and conversation in order to bring glory to the name of the LORD. I will aspire to be a suitable partner for him to help him reach his GOD-given potential.

11. I WILL DEMONSTRATE to my children how to love GOD with ALL their HEARTS, MINDS, and STRENGTH, and will train them to respect authority and live responsibly.

12. I WILL CULTIVATE a peaceful home where everyone can sense GOD's presence not only through acts of love and service but also through the pleasant and grateful attitude with which I perform them.

13. I FULLY RESOLVE to make today's decisions with tomorrow's impact in mind. I will consider my current choices in light of those who will come after me.

Holy Spirit guidance

And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.

There is POWER in the words we say and read!!! Use God's words to bring life

Help is provide all day long

It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, (Psalms 92:2 NLT)

God does not leave our side; wondering how he can pay attention to all his creations at the same? I relish in the thankfulness that HE is GOD and I am not! So His power is limitless

Life light found in God's faithfulness

Your unfailing love, O Lord , is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. (Psalms 36:5, 9 NLT)

Greatness still doesn't even come close to describing God's love and power.....how do we try to even put it into words; we can't???? Faithfulness in grace beyond what we know!!

Help is closer than we realize

“You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself. (Exodus 18:18 NLT)

Do the overwork yourself; have time for yourself....learn to slow down and see God's wonders...ask for help from wise people!!

No separation from God's love

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38, 39 NLT)

Love beyond all things.....what a message to keep in our hearts. God's grace covers ALL and NOTHING will separate you; as long as you continue to have faith in Christ
