Reminder what kind a life you'll have when we do our way instead of God's way

Galatians 5:19-21 MSG
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on. This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom.

Lord I want a life far from this meaningless barrage of nothing. Allow my life to represent everything that is opposite from this list

God's love is greater than you can imagine

1 John 3:18-20 MSG
My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.

I need to remember what true love looks like. When I often don't feel loved or willing to love myself enough to forgive myself for past mistakes, then God's true love is not shown through me. When I practice his ways to love, then any self doubt is forgotten because God is always willing to love me

Prayer is everything

Psalm 130:1-6 MSG

Help, God —the bottom has fallen out of my life! Master, hear my cry for help! Listen hard! Open your ears! Listen to my cries for mercy. If you, God , kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that’s why you’re worshiped. I pray to God —my life a prayer— and wait for what he’ll say and do. My life’s on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning.

Lord I want this to be the prayer of my life!!! I want to live a life of prayer and trusting you'll always come through like you promise

God will use you as an instrument to reach others

2 Timothy 2:25 NLT

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.

Allow God to lead your fight to bring others to the truth. Your loved ones will eventually learn that your efforts to help was God's love working through you

God's Grace

Hebrews 4:16 NLT
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Lord your grace will sustain all the pain and guilt of my mistakes, but remind me not to take this free gift for granted. REMIND me that grace is a free gift that was paid at a high price of Christ's blood.

Feeling all alone...God is there

Lamentations 3:22-24 MSG

God ’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.

A new and fresh start each morning because God is in control.  Not to feel alone and defeated but accomplished and motivated because it's a new beginning each day with God

God is so forgiving

Isaiah 55:6-7 MSG
Seek God while he’s here to be found, pray to him while he’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of life and the evil their way of thinking. Let them come back to God , who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.

Lord there is nothing we can do to earn your love but to accept grace for exactly what it is...free and unconditional no matter how many times I fail... you still bring me back to you

God allow my words having meaning when I speak

Jeremiah 15:19-21 MSG
...Use words truly and well. Don’t stoop to cheap whining. Then, but only then, you’ll speak for me. Let your words change them. Don’t change your words to suit them. I’ll turn you into a steel wall, a thick steel wall, impregnable. They’ll attack you but won’t put a dent in you because I’m at your side, defending and delivering.” God ’s Decree. “I’ll deliver you from the grip of the wicked. I’ll get you out of the clutch of the ruthless.”

God your words are the very breath of life. My prayer today is that my Twinkies see how words impact their lives each and every day

God guides your every step

God's level of patience

Lord help me seek your level of patience and experience joy like never before

Promise of true freedom

the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

Lord when we finally meet you in eternity....Allow your greatness remind us that our suffering on earth will never be felt in your kingdom

Stay away from people that bring destruction to your life

And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.

Lord help me to keep away from people that would being destruction to my life

Speak to God daily

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “ lord , I am coming.”

God I want to have a daily conversation with you about each day that you have blessed me. Show me how to live each day and that I come to you with every circumstance. 

Forgiveness of others

Colossians 3:13 NLT
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

I am reminded that I am not perfect and neither are those around me. Be willing to give grace, even when you don't think the other person deserves it. That's the beauty of grace it's free and pure without any strings attached. Think of even minor infractions and ask for forgiveness. ..because even a minor offense can grow into something very big if it's allowed to fester

Spotless because of Christ

Ephesians 5:27 NLT

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

God because of Jesus and his sacrifice we can be cleansed of any shame or guilt.  Allow this truth be the guiding light when we fall short of your glory

Happy Father's Day

John 10:15 NLT

just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.

Dads all over the world should learn this lesson well, and some actually practice this guideline daily.  I am thankful for Dads who have given up their lives for their family and those dads that live sacrificially for their children.  Lord thank you for being the ultimate example my husband and my Twinkies' daddy so that he lives this truth out each day

Live with God in your heart

And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

God this is a reminder that even in my faults there is forgiveness

Hidden faults will be cleansed when you trust God

How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.

There are things hidden in my heart due to shame and gulit that I often find hard to let go. I know Lord that your cleansing blood gives me authority to release these feelings.....Help me practice what you have preached throughout my life

God your love produces knowledge and understanding

I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.

Lord allow your love to keep me strong in following your ways. Allow the knowledge I acquire be used for your glory

Your life direction will bring blessings or destruction to your heart

Psalms 119:58-59 NLT

With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised. I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.

God help me when I am not sure which direction I should go....Help me to learn to seek you so my heart can receive your blessings

Allow the Words of the Lord flow through you

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

God allow my words to be insightful and pure. Help me control any negative comments that would hinder encouragement and grace for another person

God is never changing

1 Samuel 15:29 NLT

And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”

Our God is never changing. ..he is the same yesterday, today, and forever!! Thank you Lord that we can count on you for anything

God's Holy Word is the very breath that gives life

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Don't yearn for what others have

Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Lord let us be glad when those around are successful. Help us not to have envy of others or become conceited about our own blessings.

Finding Joy

Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.

Lord I want to spend my life living for you because I know this is where I can find joy

God gives you your heart's desires

Psalms 20:4-5 NLT

May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the lord answer all your prayers.

God is the finisher of our plans. Trust that the Lord will give you your heart's desires

God rejoices when we get it right

God loves when we get it right and he rejoices when our hearts listen for God's instruction instead of doing our own thing

Prayers are answered by God
