New Year's Resolution Word- Intentional

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:25 NIV)

Lord as we begin a new year in 2015 my prayer and resolution is to be INTENTIONAL!!! I have learned that you want us to live our best life possible but I understand this cannot happen without putting effort and making intentional choices that glorify you! Help me practice intentional living so I am not wasting precious time you give me

God is always listening

I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. (Psalm 17:6 NIV)

Lord I want to know you hear me, I want to know that my prayers are answered. Your soft voice reminds me the truth each day that my voice is heard and there is nothing that I can say that you don't already know. Thank you for always willing to listen to me 

God is my refuge

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9 NIV)

Lord I am reminded each day that you are my refuge; my safety net; my provider. My life is yours God. Help me see past the things I cannot control and trust that you'll deliver me from any oppression 

Calmness in a storm

Say to him, ‘Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart...... (Isaiah 7:4 NIV)

When the storm seems to overtake you or the circumstances of each day seem so routine, remember there is a calm in every storm and an excitement for each new adventure....the challenge is balancing the two without compromising one over the other. Lord I seek your calmness but not to the point where I am not able to live each new day with happy expectation

Powerful God

“To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. (Job 12:13 NIV)

When I think of power, I see a mighty wave of electricity or a strong built object that appears unbreakable; but what I have learned over time that human power is breakable and can stop functioning without coming from a source that never loses power. I'm reminded when I tap into the power of Christ there is power and strength to accomplish all things. Help me Lord to get my power from you instead of searching for power that does not last

Reminded of beauty from the simplest of ways

You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Song of Solomon 4:7 NIV)

God thank you for placing people in my life that remind me of my beauty, especially on days when I don't feel so beautiful inside or out. Out of no where....My sweet Twinkie with her soft spoken words and the sincere sparkle in her eye that shined as she stared and stated, "mom you are so beautiful." Lord it was you speaking through her at that very moment in time that you knew I needed to be reminded of how great you are with all creation...it's as if you could see right through me..,made my heart melt. Thank you for days and people that you use to remind us that we are so LOVED

God's timing

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV)

Lord, thank you for reminding me that your timing is perfect and I am grateful for a heart that seeks to spend eternity with you 

All you ever wanted is my heart

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26 NIV)

God all you ever wanted is my heart, even when it's not perfect to please you....you want to take my heart and mend the brokenness, tiredness & sick parts of my heart that searches for you. Thank you for being the strength of my heart!!

Lacking faith would be foolishness

holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. (1 Timothy 1:19 NIV)

Lord I understand that without faith I am powerless to understand the circumstances of this world but I choose to believe in you....in someone beyond myself that created everything from the beginning of existence...I would be foolish not to want to believe in such greatness 

Peace in the mist of chaos

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16 NIV)

Lord I need your peace more than ever! On days where the enemy would like me to think that nothing can go right....your peace Lord always proves the enemy wrong! Thank you for peace in the mist of chaos! 

Joy, Patience, Faith

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12 NIV)

Lord all my hope is in you! I need to remember that whatever my struggle; whatever my circumstance, whatever my worries.....all hope is found in you! I want to practice faithful prayer not only on days where things seem terribly wrong but everyday of every moment...to always pray

Shout to the heavens that God is your God and you trust him

But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” (Psalm 31:14 NIV)

Sometimes I need to throw up my hands and proclaim that all my trust is in him! Sometimes there is nothing else you can do but just shout that God is king of Kings and Lord of Lords and we can always trust him! Lord this is my cry to you today! 

Rest assured that you are cleansed

let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22 NIV)

Lord when those shameful thoughts or guilty feelings start stirring around in my spirit because the enemy's lies want to destroy the truth that God has already proclaimed-you are cleansed by Christ's blood; remind me of this truth

Knowledge leads to understanding

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10 NIV)

Often Lord I forget that knowledge comes from you and when I am willing to submit to this knowledge, then true understanding of my circumstances begins to make some sense 

New Day

They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:23 NIV)

Lord even when the morning starts off rocky like someone hitting my car from behind, I chose to have faith that every morning we are made new and how we choose to react to circumstances either shows your love or shows our human weakness and I choose to show your love

God is joy and glory

Indeed, you are our glory and joy. (1 Thessalonians 2:20 NIV)

Remembering that God is my true joy! There is nothing better than knowing HE is all joy and glory!

Beauty beyond what we imagine

You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Song of Solomon 4:7 NIV)

Lord allow me to teach my daughters about beauty that is not measured by the world's standards so they know that the true beauty they should live comes from  God 

Life is not worth living without God's love

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:3-4 NIV)

Lord I have learned that there is no better gift than your love. Remind me each day to love the people around me with the same love you demonstrated on the cross 

God's good works

Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations. (Revelation 15:3 NLT)

Lord I have to trust that your ways are far better than I can imagine. I might not know the end result; however there has never been a time when you didn't deliver on a promise. Help me see past the temporary and reach for more permanent ground 

Hope in a mighty God

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! (Psalms 42:11 NLT)

Lord in my darkest moments you stand next to me, you meet wherever I am. I am grateful for your humbling acts of mercy. Although my heart might feel sad, I know my trust is found in you. Lord I don't only want to know this in my mind but live it through my actions. Forgive my doubt! 

Make God your first thought each day

But the LORD’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. (Psalms 33:11 NLT)

God I often wonder if my plans line up with yours, if today's intentions have kept you at the center? I fall short everyday and need your grace. As early as the sun rises, my thoughts are often focused on other things instead of you. Help me practice to wake each day with you as my first thought

Faults of our own

Colossians 3:13-15 NLT
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Lord I often forget to remember my own faults because it's easier to blame someone else for doing something wrong.   I want to live a life that reminds others to love first and grant grace when it doesn’t seemed deserved, but that's the great thing about grace you don't have to deserve it's just given freely

Thankfulness

Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. (Psalms 50:14 NLT)

Lord I am thankful each day. Remind me that you never waver on your promises so I shouldn't waver on mine! Thank you for my family, health, job, beautiful home, friends, and every blessing in between 

Guided by God

You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. (Psalms 73:24 NLT)

Lord I want to be guided by you each day and not be fearful where you will lead. I often resist because the path you guide me towards is not always easy, so soften my heart to be led by your Spirit each day

Correction in my life

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT)

Lord I need instruction each day. I often start the day making an attempt to keep focused on you; however I often see myself getting off track. Correct me when I need it and point me back to the right path

Straying away from the path

Some people have wandered from the faith by following such foolishness. May God’s grace be with you all. (1 Timothy 6:21 NLT)

Lord I pray that my path be lead by you so I am not tempted to leave it to follow empty promises! Thank you for the grace you show each time I stray and allow me to return 

Good things come from a good heart

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. (Matthew 12:35 NLT)

Lord I want my heart to be filled with your teachings and promises. Remind me that my heart can demonstrate love to others when I fill it with your truths. Help me rid my heart of the enemy's lies

Bring peace to a trouble mind and heart

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 NLT)

Lord my mind often wanders and does not remain focused on your truths. I find my heart giving into the lies of the mind that often pop up out of nowhere. I pray for your continued guidance and love, so I can fight off the things that are not pure of mercy and grace. 

Word in my Heart

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalms 119:11 NLT)

Lord each day when I spend time with you in prayer and worship, I pray that your WORD be stored in my heart so I may live out each day with you in my heart

Blessings

Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. (Deuteronomy 28:6 NLT)

God keeps his promises and I know he will continue to bless me and my family. I pray that all we do is for God's glory

Weak

“In the past you have encouraged many people; you have strengthened those who were weak. (Job 4:3 NLT)

Lord there are times when my weak mind fails you. I pray for renewed strength each day as I attempt to get it right each and everyday. I know without a doubt I will often fail, but my hope and prayer is that your promise to be my strength is always with me 

Protection

The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. (Psalms 121:5 NLT)

Thank you God for your protection! Knowing that you never take your eyes off me is reassuring during my toughest battles. Thank you for protection in this world for my family and friends against the evil that would try to invade our lives! 

Pure in Body, Mind, & Spirit

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. (Titus 1:15 NLT)

Lord my prayer today is to give me a pure heart! A mind with pure thoughts and a physical body pure of illness. Demonstrate to me that pure living is not a mystical myth but a conscious effort to seek you in all that we do!

Honorable Men and Women

New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed.’ (Job 29:20 NLT)

Lord we often take for granted the honorable people in our lives. Their honor is renewed each day as they make the sacrifice to serve and have served our country. I pray for the same renewed strength that you give to our military families! 

Being thankful even during the toughest times

We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. (Psalms 75:1 NLT)

Lord there are days I don't feel like giving thanks, there are days when I don't understand why I should be thankful for the pain, the sorrow, the heartache, the lies, and everything bad in this world.....then for all the bad moments, I remember the most glorious moment in time that takes all the bad away; therefore I am truly thankful for your son Jesus!

Seek God and you will find him

“I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. (Proverbs 8:17 NLT)

Lord everyday is a new adventure, an opportunity to do your will, an opportunity to do what is right, an opportunity to find your mysteries in every step and with every breath we take. Lord I pray for those who search for you, those who are tired and need rest and those that hurt with sorrow. All we need is to seek you and we will find you 

Trust in all things

For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. (Psalms 33:4 NLT)

Even in the simple things, God can be trusted!!! Lord thank you for the simple practice of trusting you because all it requires is having faith that your promises are what you say they are. Maybe there are many people who have trouble with this practice of trust, so I pray that you open their hearts so they could be willing to experience even a glimpse of your faithfulness!!

Stronger than you can imagine

The strong right arm of the LORD is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the LORD has done glorious things! (Psalms 118:16 NLT)

There is no other strength that I know that can deliver me from both physical and emotional destruction! 

When doubt lingers

When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. (Psalms 94:19 NLT)

God clear my mind of thoughts that don't represent your glory. Help me resist the urge to say I can't by knowing YOU already CAN!!! Don't allow my doubt in human self discourage what you can accomplish through me 

God's unfailing love

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. (Psalms 13:5-6 NLT)

Lord where I have failed, you have not! I am thankful for each day! Lord I am grateful that your love is so vast that it sustains me and my imperfections! Thank you for saving me when I didn't believe there was anything worth saving! I am reminded of your love each day through each sunrise and chirping bird. I want to stop and take a moment on how much I am truly loved! 

The Lord is my ROCK

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. (Psalms 18:2 NLT)

When I am scared and cannot find peace, I cling to this promise from God! I know there is nothing in this world that scares God from always protecting and reaching out for me! Many people celebrate Halloween for different reasons; the true meaning is remembering the dead....yet the meaning has been perverted and commercialized to sell scary products. This is not the devil's day because God has created all days for his Glory! Let's remember to find comfort in God's safe arms if you feel scared. Be safe as you get candy or give out candy, but most importantly remember that our death is not the end but only the beginning for greater things, so remember those that have gone before us! 

Promises

Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles. (Psalms 119:50 NLT)

The Lord declared promises to his people and he has never let me down. I often think his promises are contingent with me following through with my own promises to him, but the amazing fact is that God doesn't want or need my promises because he knows they don't last. Thank God, he just wants me to believe that All promises are fulfilled by his son Jesus! I pray Lord to see your promises fulfilled each day of life and that the promises of my Twinkies are far more awesome than I could ever imagine. 

Heart of God

And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, (Ezekiel 11:19 NLT)

Lord often times we are so quick to beg and repent of our mistakes; yet often times the same grace you have showed me is not extended to those who have hurt me because I refuse to let you take care of my heart. I want to practice a love that comes from a heart that is not stony or stubborn. 

Greatness is found in God

Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. (Psalms 145:3 NLT)

Father you are a wonderful reminder of what Greatness should be. Instead of just asking for things or praying for selfish needs, show me that your greatness goes beyond being a giver; rather your GREATNESS is that of the most HIGH, who deserves all praise without us expecting to get something out of it because we should give you the praise you rightly deserve 

Worshipping in the Spirit

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24 NLT)

Lord God, I want to honor you with each step. Guide my Spirit to find connection with you. Remind me that your truths are not a mystical fantasy or make believe fairy tale. I wholeheartedly trust that your Spirit lives within me and there is Great power when we worship you

Living

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. (Ephesians 5:15 NLT)

Lord I pray that my life is a reflection of you and not of this world. So often we get tied up in wanting temporary fixes and don't see the eternal promises. I pray for a life that is beyond the temporary 

Learning to live with integrity

and if you are pure and live with integrity, he will surely rise up and restore your happy home. (Job 8:6 NLT)

Lord there are times I get it right and there are other times I often get it wrong. I want to be able live a life of integrity...someone the Twinkies can be proud to call MOM. I cling to your promise to restore homes that have been through struggles. The best way we know how, Lord, I want to show you that living with integrity will build a strong home

What a merciful God

But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are! (Nehemiah 9:31 NLT)

Lord so many times throughout history, you had opportunities to destroy your people for their disobedience and unfaithfulness; yet your mercies prevailed....you saw the worth in our hearts and what you originally created. Remind me each day of these new mercies and how to bring glory to your name because of your Mercy

Brokenness leads to strength

The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong. (1 Samuel 2:4 NLT)

Lord, the enemy would have us believe that one mistake will keep us down and destroyed. You have taught us about grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Help us stop the negative thoughts that try to push you out and fill us with doubt. Allow your Spirit to continue to work on our broken hearts so we are stronger than before

Don't short change what God has already done

But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. (2 Peter 1:9 NLT)

God as believers we know that your son's blood washes over all our sins, but often times I'll catch myself making the same mistakes for sins already forgiven and there I go again asking for forgiveness again. I often wonder when does it stop, when do I finally get it. I know relationships are hard and I often fail to get it right; matter of fact I sometimes continue to make the same mistakes. I pray Lord that even in my struggles you allow me to see, so I am not blind. Remind me that I am not a lost cause and there is nothing that can separate me from your love-----even making the same mistakes over and over again. I guess the lesson will be learned when I don't want to suffer the consequences of the same mistake. 

God's glory

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. (Romans 11:36 NLT)

What joy to know that everything in existence is created for God's glory, so how can any circumstance ever be bad

Worried about missing things

but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced. (Mark 4:19 NLT)

I know I often worry for what I have and don't have. I try to obtain things that are only pleasing to the eye for a moment but have no eternal value. I pray that my heart is changed towards things that last forever and not worry about things I have or don't have in the moment 

God's way is perfect

God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. (Psalms 18:30 NLT)

The first verse is so true but often times so hard to truly believe, because our human flesh wants to believe we know better than God, we have a better way instead of God's way, and we can get faster results. Isn't this the ultimate lie the devil has gotten us to fall for. I pray Lord that my eyes stay focused on you and I don't stray from the truth that YOUR WAYS ARE ALWAYS PERFECT

Savor each moment

You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude (Psalms 39:5 NLT)

The moments in our lives pass by so quickly, I know I often forget or even refuse to savor the moment because I'm afraid I'll miss the next big thing. The reality of the matter is that the next big thing won't start without me if I am part of it. The moments God creates can never be lived again when they already have passed, but I can make an effort to recognize each moment that passes, whether big or small, there is something to learn in each moment 

When the fight seems impossible

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. (Psalms 73:26 NLT)

Lord I need to remind myself that the fight is not mine alone. I get tired, frustrated, and physically weak with my battles....but I know you live in my heart, fighting for me each day. I pray you show me this strength a little each day....so I don't give up on the fight

Beautiful in every way

You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way. (Song of Songs 4:7 NLT)

I often forget about the beauty standing in front of the mirror. I question God's creation, I say there is no way I can live up to a perfect standard. The amazing truth is....I don't have too. Christ stands in my place for perfection and all I have to do is trust that his perfectness will cover all my flaws. God only sees the beauty he has created, not the mess that you made trying to perfect something that is already perfect in God's eyes 

Struggling

That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. (Colossians 1:29 NLT)

We are left feeling vulnerable when we have to trust another human being because we know that they will eventually fail and never give us all that we need. My daily struggle is to know that God never fails during my struggles, he actually shows his great power when we depend on him for everything. God help me continue to follow you even when the path seems too hard

Unwavering trust in God

Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock. (Isaiah 26:4 NLT)

We often do things on our own, thinking we can solve our issues and worries without some intervention. I have come to find out that doing things alone never turns out the way I expected, in fact I make more of a mess without trusting God with everything. I make a mess of my life and then I come to God expecting him to fix what I messed up, when I should have trusted him in the first place. The best part of each mess up is that God still loves me and he would move heaven and earth to get me through whatever circumstance....if I remember to trust him with eternity, just imagine what you can overcome. I would be silly not to trust the creator of all things. 

The flesh is weak

Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” (Matthew 26:41 NLT)

God often times we are tempted by things of this world...being promised a better life, more love, more money, and more happiness...when in actuality these promises are only fulfilled in a pure relationship with you. Keep me focused on things that are eternal and not temporary 

God's love and patience is pure

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. (2 Thessalonians 3:5 NLT)

Lord thank you for the reminder of the pure love and patience that only you can give. I want to be able to show this level of patience. Take away things in my life that don't demonstrate this level of love and patience 

What a mighty savior we have in Christ

For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NLT)

The moments in life that feel too overwhelming, turn to God and see his miracles at work. There is no fear that I cannot overcome with God by my side

God has given us what we need to live successfully

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3 NLT)

We often ask for more money, more intelligence, more friends, more anything because we believe that what we have isn't enough to fix the problem of the day. How wrong we have been. Everything I ever need or want, God has already given.....if I could only remember to use this gift everyday, instead of hoping for more

Just be thankful

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. (1 Chronicles 16:8 NLT)

Lord even the little things you have done deserve our thanks. I am totally thankful for each step towards the next step of what seems to be the impossible. 

Tender mercies

Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight. (Psalms 119:77 NLT)

Lord I often find myself reaching for things that are beyond my comprehension but my goal is to always find your mercies when I fail 

Wondrous secrets

“This is what the LORD says—the LORD who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the LORD: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. (Jeremiah 33:2-3 NLT)

God has so many wondrous secrets that he is ready to reveal in your life. Be willing to be patient and know that he's always in control with whatever he has created for your life. 

Striving to be perfect

Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked? Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life. (Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 NLT)

God remind me there is no such thing as human perfection. The only perfection found in humanity was through Christ. There is nothing that I can ever do that will ever match up to this level but I often finding myself so defeated when I don't match this perfection. Then God reminds me that my job is never to match with the perfection of Christ but just accept his perfect gift of salvation 

Happiness in life

there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. That is our lot in life.  (Ecclesiastes 3:22 NLT)

Lord a way to happiness is believing we are made each day to enjoy the work we have accomplished. To saving the world, inventing a new software, or making pancakes for your family...there is happiness found in each task. Enjoy each step and not just the final product. Life takes work, relationships take work...,be willing to work

You're the hands and feet of Christ

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT)

God often times we get discouraged because we don't see the outcome of our good works. Remind me that my efforts are never forgotten. Thank you for the strength to move forward with each step

Life is precious and God will take care of the life he has created

You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care. (Job 10:12 NLT)

Lord show us today the very careful hands you hold us with -whether we are newborn to elderly, you carry us in the gentle hands that created the very existence of life. Remind us that we can trust in you for all things 

Not understanding God's ways

Lord I often fight to be right, to have it my way, to say I am better than that person......but teach me how to have a  humble heart, to lay down my pride and fears to follow you. Seek God

God I often see my life through a foggy glass. I rather keep from seeing clearly because the truth often means there is change to come so I keep the glass foggy from seeing through. Then I remember when the glass is clear, sunlight can come through and I can see clearly the path ahead. I want to live a life clear of fog rather in my imperfections and keep focused on you always meeting me wherever I am

Often times we allow our thoughts get in the way of reaching our full potential. We allow our thoughts be overwhelmed with past mistakes and the devil's lies that nothing will get better. I want to trust God with each thought and the moment my mind is invaded with a negative thought....God help me squash the thoughts that would prevent me from drawing closer to you  

Have love for things beyond this world

God reminds us to set our eyes towards heaven and the beauty beyond this world. We live on earth and God demands we care for it, but he just wants to make sure we don't settle for things of this world, when we have so much waiting for us

God's grace is pure with no strings attached..freely given because of his love for me. Lord I want to be reminded that your grace is what motivates each step, so I don't take for granted the free grace that was spilled on the cross

I often forget the battle has already been won. I fail at times to see God already walked through every circumstance that I have experienced and beat every trial that I am faced with. Why do I doubt his promise that he has already one?, because we often let the guilt and shame of the enemy trick us in believing that we still have failed. Stay strong and know your God is with you

Lord often I need to be reminded to keep my mouth shut and listen. I have this tendency to believe the more I talk the more God can hear, but actually its the total opposite, the more that I practice stillness, God can hear me alot louder

Lord remind me to be receptive and mindful about learning your ways instead of always expecting that I should always get something first. Lord I always want to put you first

Lord help me choose to treat others in my relationship with them that reflects my relationship with you. If I wouldn't disrespect or dishonor you, then help me see when I begin to act this way towards other people I care about

Lord when we are discouraged you are there to fill in any holes that we can't fill ourselves. We often wonder why me but I need to remind myself that is probably what Jesus was thinking when he was on the cross, so my little obstacles are just a small drop in a big ocean compared to what Jesus faced on my behalf

I often wonder what it truly looks like to trust God. Is it to just pray, be a good person, not to curse around my children, not to get angry, not to gossip, give my gifts/money to the church and the poor? Well I've learned that although these are all great and beautiful acts that show God's grace, I will never know the true love of God unless I lay everything at his feet and be willing to trust him with my SPIRIT.....the very essence of living is found in our Spirit

Don't ignore God

God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God . It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times.

Trust the Lord when it gets really rough. Seek his face and know he is always with you

Reminder what kind a life you'll have when we do our way instead of God's way

Galatians 5:19-21 MSG
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on. This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom.

Lord I want a life far from this meaningless barrage of nothing. Allow my life to represent everything that is opposite from this list

God's love is greater than you can imagine

1 John 3:18-20 MSG
My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.

I need to remember what true love looks like. When I often don't feel loved or willing to love myself enough to forgive myself for past mistakes, then God's true love is not shown through me. When I practice his ways to love, then any self doubt is forgotten because God is always willing to love me

Prayer is everything

Help, God —the bottom has fallen out of my life! Master, hear my cry for help! Listen hard! Open your ears! Listen to my cries for mercy. If you, God , kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that’s why you’re worshiped. I pray to God —my life a prayer— and wait for what he’ll say and do. My life’s on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning.

Lord I want this to be the prayer of my life!!! I want to live a life of prayer and trusting you'll always come through like you promise

God will use you as an instrument to reach others

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.

Allow God to lead your fight to bring others to the truth. Your loved ones will eventually learn that your efforts to help was God's love working through you

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Feeling all alone...God is there

Lord there is nothing we can do to earn your love but to accept grace for exactly what it is...free and unconditional no matter how many times I fail... you still bring me back to you

God allow my words having meaning when I speak

Forgiveness of others

I am reminded that I am not perfect and neither are those around me. Be willing to give grace, even when you don't think the other person deserves it. That's the beauty of grace it's free and pure without any strings attached. Think of even minor infractions and ask for forgiveness. ..because even a minor offense can grow into something very big if it's allowed to fester

Spotless because of Christ

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

God because of Jesus and his sacrifice we can be cleansed of any shame or guilt.  Allow this truth be the guiding light when we fall short of your glory

Happy Father's Day

just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.

Dads all over the world should learn this lesson well, and some actually practice this guideline daily.  I am thankful for Dads who have given up their lives for their family and those dads that live sacrificially for their children.  Lord thank you for being the ultimate example my husband and my Twinkies' daddy so that he lives this truth out each day

What a blessing to know that although I have never seen God in person, his Spirit lives within me.... the same Spirit that existed before time itself.  This is awesome power!!!

Wisdom vs Strength

So you can't have one without the other, but it appears if you have the wisdom to make good choices then your strength growing comes as an automatic benefit

God is always looking out for us! Remember that he is always near and watching every step

Controlled by the Spirit

Lord I want to be controlled by your Spirit. I want to remember that following you is no sacrifice because it's free of grace and mercy to follow your Spirit ways. Take away anything in my life that doesn't belong and I pray that my current circumstances do not overwhelm me 

There is nothing too small or too big that God cannot handle

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT)

God when I fail to trust in you because my small mind cannot see your hands do their work in each situation; help me turn away from this type of thinking and DECLARE that you are God and there is nothing too small or too big that you haven't already commanded!!!!

Pursue God

Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor. (Proverbs 21:21 NLT)

Lord remind me on what my focus should be. Help me stay away from false hope and ideas that don't honor you. Remind me to keep in pursuit of your ways so my life will demonstrate your blessings 

Rejoice in God

Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. (Psalms 63:7 NLT)

Thank you God that there is a reason to rejoice, that there is a reason to sing praises to your name, thank you for the small steps each day that I draw closer to you 

Exposure through God's WORD

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)

Often times we squirmish away from the power of God because we know that this power will cleanse all things, but sometimes we are not ready to give up the temporary to experience God fully. I pray Lord that you help me learn to LET GO the thoughts and desires that are not of you!!

Lord you are constantly thinking about me

Lord if I ever question whether or not you think about me, I need to stop and remember there is not a moment in time that I am not being thought of by you! 

Happy Mother's Day

I have always tried my best to let wisdom guide my thoughts and actions. I said to myself, “I am determined to be wise.”  (Ecclesiastes 7:23 NLT)

Mothers are wise and helpful; they are a true extension of God's love. We are not perfect and stumble many times when it comes to raising children, but I believe God's purpose for mothers lies in the everyday moments of our kids' lives- to nag at their hearts for God, so our children know that there is no greater gift but to have God living in their heart

Stop and embrace the moment with God

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:15 NLT)

God thank you for just being the almighty creator. Remind me to stop in each moment to be filled with your peace and embrace all that you are in that moment 

Seek God instead of the world

Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. (Colossians 3:2 NLT)

Lord I often find myself holding on to temporary things of this world instead of focusing my attention on you. Show me how to seek you instead of temporary things

My Hope is in your WORD!

Lord I lack patience many times...in a world of "hurry up" attitude; remind me to take a step back and find hope in the living, breathing, bread of life- which is your WORD! 

Restoration

Restoration. Our hearts are heavy from all the worries and daily struggles of this life; yet he always brings restoration when we need a new start, a new day..a new plan. Continue to give hope God so I can see your plans during this time of restoration 

When we question WHY????

God in the mist of our pain we often question, WHY me? WHY now? Help me understand your purpose even though it makes no sense in my my closed mind. Allow your spirit to move within me to heal my unhealthy thoughts and bring peace to my mind about the unknown! 

Temptations

Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. (James 1:14, 15 NLT)

Lord we struggle daily with being part of this world and it's false hope. Help me see past the "temporary" to find you! 

Helping others

And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. (Hebrews 13:16 NLT)

Remember the people around you that need help

Winning through Love and truth

Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (1 Corinthians 13:6 NLT)

Winning by truth and love 

Don't turn away from the help The Lord provides because you disagree on how The Lord chooses to implement the help you need

The lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalms 34:17 NLT)

Lord don't let me turn away from the help you provide. Although I may not understand the help you have given, help me it accept it willingly without question or apprehension.....you have never failed to meet me wherever I am at! 

Allow The Lord to lead your heart

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. (2 Thessalonians 3:5 NLT)

God help me serve with a heart that is filled with your love and patience. Often times, I find myself becoming cynical and I know this type of attitude is not how you want us to live 

Allow your mind be filled with God's thoughts

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. (Romans 8:6 NLT)

Lord it's difficult to not follow my selfish ways. Spirit show me to allow you to control my thoughts so my choices bring outcomes pleasing to God 

The way is perfect when God is at the Center of your heart

God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. (Psalms 18:32 NLT)

Since God is always by my side; how do I ever stumble in my selfish ways? My human body is weak and I need God to give me strength to overcome my harmful choices 

Testing and trials in our lives

Put me on trial, lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart. (Psalms 26:2 NLT)

Lord I would not be truthful if I said I like taking tests or going through trials to be examined. I strive for perfection but know I fall so short. It's by Christ that i am even able to get through each day. Reveal the things of my heart that cloud your plans for my life. 

God never leaves you

You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. (Psalms 73:24-26 NLT)

There is so much encouragement in God's guidance! He has never failed me, even in my darkest hour....he never left my side. God hurts when I hurt, cries when I cry and laughs when I laugh; so there is no one better than HIM, that I know that will ever let me down

Happiness

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found. (Psalms 119:35 NLT)

Lord I often forget that my happiness is always found listening to your voice and following your ways. When I have strayed and thought I had all the answers, I have failed miserably...help me follow the path that leads to true happiness found ONLY in you!! 

Find comfort in God's embrace when suffering a loss

I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. The faithful love of the lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:20, 22, 23 NLT)

Thank you Lord that you hold us tight when we need your strong arms to embrace us, because our sadness can feel overwhelming at times 

Seeking God and finding hope

Be free from your guilt

Lord what a blessing to have eternal forgiveness that we dont deserve. I can be set free from any guilt that the enemy would lay in my path

Easter Sunday 2014

Lord my wonderful Savior...your sacrifice was GREAT but your LOVE is GREATER! Thank you for knowing me and caring about me when you died on the cross!!! But we rejoice on this day because you LIVE and defeated death!!! 

Being right by God through faith

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. (Romans 3:22 NLT)

God accepts us wherever we are! It's amazing to me how our creator has so much patience; yet we continue to test our limits with him. Help me Lord to see that I don't have to test you

Restoring our relationship with God through the sacrificial blood of Jesus

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. (Romans 5:10, 11 NLT)

Thank you Lord for restoring our relationship with you! Thank you for cleansing us and taking away all guilt and giving us freedom

Allow integrity and honesty be a guide to keep from making the same mistakes

Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O lord. May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. (Psalms 25:7, 21 NLT)

How greatful I am Lord that you choose to see your Son's blood over my imperfect ways. Thank you Lord for HOPE, even in our darkest hour

Lord help me practice to listen to you quietly without trying to give you direction; but rather I want to honestly take direction from you

Lord you deserve all praise; just because of your glorious mercy and love and we should never expect anything in return- yet you gave us any ultimate gift (free) salvation through your son

Eternity with God

God thank you for your guidance to an eternal home that is far better than we could ever imagine 

Seek God first and see the glorious path he will guide you to

God help me see past my selfish ways so I can seek your will! 

God is the foundation of our lives

Lord I want you to be my foundation! Thank you for being dependable and gracious in all that you do

How thoughtful you are Lord to not allow not even one small detail of my life not be planned out. The perfect Creator in all your wisdom....my desire is to listen and follow you wherever you lead and not complain in the process

Lord this is my prayer each day! Help me be willing to change the thoughts and attitudes that don't reflect your love, mercy, and righteousness. Forgive me that even with my thoughts I have failed you; yet you still love me as much as you did the day you created me 

I can come to God without fear

Then I could speak to him without fear, but I cannot do that in my own strength. (Job 9:35 NLT)

Lord thank you for allowing us to come to you without any fear. In all your might and power, you are still as gentle as a baby's face. I can speak to you as my best confidant without any reservation. Your spirit gives me strength to listen for your quiet voice 

Delight in The Lord

The one thing I ask of the lord — the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the lord all the days of my life, delighting in the lord ’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. (Psalms 27:4 NLT)

Lord when I meditate in your greatness and have my focus on you; all the worries of my life fade away. Help me focus on your perfect ways and teach me listening prayer-where I keep still and don't speak but wait upon you 

To know God and the depths of his understanding

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. (Isaiah 40:28 NLT)

Casting Crowns said it best-"God to know you is to never worry about my life; to know you is to never give into compromise; to know you is to want to tell the world about you, because I can't live without you!"

The Bible teaches us many things about God's promises

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. (Romans 15:4 NLT)

God your Living and Breathing Word is a guide; remind me that I can find truth in what I read and help me practice what I learn; instead of thinking it's just another book 

God as your Great Counsel

You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. (Psalms 73:24 NLT)

God we want to trust your ways daily but often forget that our road to destiny was never promised to be perfect but Only that you would never leave our side as we walk along this path. The end result will be glorious with you! 

Your relationship with your spouse

The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the lord. (Proverbs 18:22 NLT)

I am reminded today how important God values marriage relationships. I often wonder how he matches us with another person to share some of our most intimate thoughts and deepest fears, then I am reminded that our spouse should be an extension of God's love in human form...to have a relationship just like we are to have that personal relationship with Christ. I am far from the perfect spouse and I constantly ask God to help me make right choices when it comes to relationships 

Lord you know my heart

But as for me, lord, you know my heart. You see me and test thoughts...... (Jeremiah 12:3 NLT)

God I can never hide anything from you. The moment I think of something or the moment I feel something; you have already known what was we place in our hearts. Help me with my thoughts that do no harm to others or myself. Keep me from my own self destructing ways and allow me to follow you without hesitation 

Another person's thoughts are only known to God

No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:11 NLT)

We have no idea what another person is truly thinking or what is truly in their hearts; pray that God dwell in their hearts as you interact and develop relationships with others 

God's ways are beyond anything I can imagine

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. (Isaiah 55:8 NLT)

Lord I trust your ways....remind me that I am not helpless when I even get a glimpse of your greatness 

Your thoughts are important to God

May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the lord. (Psalms 104:34 NLT)

Lord I want my thoughts to be pure and pleasing to you. Help me control my thoughts with positive insight instead of negativity 

Strength in God

But those who trust in the lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 NLT)

God we find strength in your power!! 

Come before God's throne

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (Hebrews 4:16 NLT)

Whatever circumstance you face today: a loss of a loved one, a disappointment of some missed opportunity, or just making a poor choice. Know that you can come before God and he will sustain you!! 

You are God's perfect gift and he is proud to call u his child

After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! (1 Thessalonians 2:19 NLT)

You are the Lord's perfect gift! He is proud to call us his children. Let's follow our Savior to the end of eternity and know we are perfect in his eyes because of our faith on Christ

God's plans are PERFECT

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28 NLT)

God's plans are far better than we could ever imagine!!! Trust that he knows all things
