Being cleansed by God's promises

“Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.”

2 Corinthians 7:1 NLT

God thank you for the reminder that all the junk that would invade my heart, body, and mind need to be removed in order to experience your holiness. I want to strive to do this each day

Christ will take away the sins of his people

“so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.”

Lord thank you for your promise to deliver us from our mistakes and showing us how to live a life worthy of you. I eagerly await your daily instructions 

Having a cheerful heart

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”

Proverbs 17:22 NLT

Lord remind me to spread good cheer through a thankful and cheerful heart. There are days when when my heart may not feel so cheerful but remind me each day of your blessings 

Lord will grant your hearts desires if you get out of the way

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

Psalms 37:4 NLT

God I often forget to give you all of my heart because I think I know what's best, but the best lesson learned has been to let go so you can give me my heart's desires without me being in the way messing it all up 

A happy heart

“A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit.”

Lord help create in me a heart that is filled with joy from your Spirit, a happy heart that brings smiles to faces

God's peace guards your heart and mind

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:7 NLT

Lord thank you for giving peace that surpasses all understanding. I want your peace to settle all the minutiae filled items in my mind and heart

Create in me a clean heart

“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”

Psalms 51:10 NLT

Lord thank you for giving me a clean heart! Help me see the things that shouldn't be in my heart and cleanse me from the inside out
